Frequently Asked Questions
Expand the items below to view frequently asked questions about your new student account.
Students and their authorized payers will see new payment options, extended payment plan offerings and a new, user-friendly platform. All of your billing and payment options will be housed in one place - including both domestic and international payments. To make the payment process faster and easier, students and authorized users will be able to store payment methods for future use.
Historically Emory has offered only one payment option - a bank draft from your US checking or savings accounts. Students and their authorized payers will now have the option to pay their tuition and fees using a credit card. A 2.65% service fee will apply to all credit card payments. If you are using a debit card, we highly recommend you utilize the ACH bank draft payment option to avoid this fee.
International payments will also be housed in this new platform. A range of international payment options will be offered based on the country selected. Normal exchange rates and other fees may apply.
The monthly payment plan option will now be visible on the same dashboard as one-time payments. You will no longer have to navigate to separate tabs in OPUS. Students who choose to enroll early in the fall/spring payment plans will be offered a down payment option of only 20% (summer payment plans will require a 25% down payment.)
After initial enrollment, domestic payment plans will utilize an auto-draft process. Just set it and forget it! International payment plans will require manual payments to align with their payment schedule. Payments can be setup using ACH or credit card.
Only one payment date will be available on the new payment plan. Following enrollment, all subsequent payments will occur on the 5th of the month. Depending on when you enroll, your payment dates will be as follows:
Fall semester
September 5
October 5
November 5
December 5
Spring semester
January 5
February 5
March 5
April 5
Summer semester
May 5
June 5
July 5
Enrollment fees will apply and you must enroll in the payment plan each semester you wish to use it.
STUDENTS:
Log in to OPUS to complete the following steps when the new portal is available:
