Guest Access

NEW CHANGES COMING FALL 2026

Emory has partnered with Flywire to offer a new and improved student account. Please see important information below about changes to OPUS Guest Access:

OPUS Guests will maintain access to the following:

  • 1098T Tax Information (1098T forms are available in student-view only)
  • View information on Tuition Insurance
  • View Authorized User instructions
  • Academic and Financial Aid access will not be impacted
  • Waive student health insurance (Health tile)

Authorized Users in Flywire will access the following:

  • Review all student account charges
  • Generate billing statements
  • Make a payment (ACH, credit card, international)
  • Save preferred payment methods
  • Setup a payment plan
  • Access all of your students, across institutions, in one portal
    • Note that you must use the same email address for all students and all institutions must use Flywire for this service to be available.

In order to comply with all FERPA Privacy Regulations, Emory has implemented several options for students to control who has access to their financial records. We encourage parents and guardians to speak with their student about the following options.

Flywire Authorized User (Available July 2026)

Students who would like their parent/sponsor to be able to view/pay their charges will need to setup Flywire Authorized User access starting in July 2026. There are two ways to get access -

Option 1: Student adds an Authorized User from OPUS

  • Log in to OPUS with your student credentials.
  • Navigate to the Student Account tile.
  • Select the View/Pay my Account tab and then click the View/Pay My Account button to be transferred to the billing dashboard.
  • In the portal, go to My Account/Account and open the “Authorized Users” section.
  • Select “Add Authorized User” and enter the person’s name and email address.
  • The authorized user will receive an email to complete registration and create a password.

After logging in, they will be able to view your account and make payments based on the permissions granted.

Option 2: Authorized User Requests Access

  • Go to OPUS Authorized User login page.
  • Choose "Create New Account" or the option for Authorized User/Parent Login (not current or former student).
  • Enter your name, email and create a password to request access.
  • Complete the verification email sent to that address.
  • Provide the student's ID and date of birth when prompted.

Once approved by the student, you will receive a confirmation email and may log in. If the student does not approve, your request will remain pending.

OPUS Guest Access

Students can add up to five guest accounts in the OPUS student portal under the Guest Access tile. Guests are given a unique username and password to access the OPUS portal and complete various tasks such as waiving student health insurance, viewing financial aid, and accessing academic information.

Students are responsible for selecting what access they would like to grant to each guest and resetting your credentials. The university cannot make changes to this access.

NOTE: Beginning fall 2026, authorized user access in Flywire will be required to view charges and make payments. This functionality will no longer be available through OPUS Guest Access. Please see above for more information.

Bill Payer

If you will be paying your student’s bills each semester, we recommend speaking with your student about adding your email address to receive all financial notifications. Students can add your email address as the Bill Payer under the Profile tile in OPUS. This will prompt Emory to send all billing notifications to the student as well as the bill payer on file. Only one Bill Payer address can be added to each student.

This is separate from OPUS Guest Access or being an Authorized User in Flywire. Without being added as a Bill Payer, you will not receive any billing notifications. Students are responsible for adding their email addresses—the university cannot make changes to this field.

Nelnet Authorized Party (ending summer 2026)

Through summer 2026, parents can set up and manage their student's monthly payment plan without relying on the student for notification. To start, your student must access the Nelnet Payment Plan website to add you as an authorized party. You will be provided with Nelnet credentials to log in and then set up, manage and pay your student's payment plan.

Being added as an authorized party is a one-time requirement. After setup, you can log in to Nelnet each semester to set up your monthly payment plan at Emory.

To log in to Nelnet, students will access the Student Account tile in OPUS and select *Enroll /Manage My Payment Plan under the Make a Payment tab. From there, they will be taken to Nelnet where they can view their dashboard and add an authorized party. Nelnet authorized parties can log in directly to Nelnet.

*Changing to Summer 2026 Payment Plan tab in late June.

Important
Parents/guardians cannot register at this site. The student must add you as an authorized party through their OPUS portal. Upon the first login attempt, the student will have to set up the initial account before reaching this screen.
